Sushi Chef, Matsushima, Edgewater, NJ
From Ted: This week’s photo of the week, as you can see, is of a sushi chef. When we think of chefs I think most of us immediately think of hot kitchens full of noise. However, in the more tranquil setting of a Japanese restaurant are some of the most talented chefs. As readers of this blog may know, I get a lot of fulfillment photographing chefs. This was no exception. During a photo session focusing on the food, I was able to “grab” this shot.
One of the things I find appealing about this photograph is the wise and focused look of his face. He has been clearly practicing his craft for many years, and is confident and proud of his skills. As I watched him prepare the sushi I was amazed at his precision knife work. Something many of us can only dream of.
There is such character in his face; you caught it!! Great moment.
