From Ted: This was photographed at the Porthole Restaurant in Portland, Maine while working on the cover story about comfort food in Maine for Down East Magazine. In addition to this story, I also photographed the restaurant review (50 Local in Kennebunk) and the cover. The Porthole is located on the waterfront of Portland and attracts quite a diverse crowd for what many say is the best breakfast around. Although this photo did not make it into the story, it is one of my favorites.

I love the Porthole. Eaten here many, many times over the years, especially when I lived in Portland during the 80′s.
They used to have a black Lab who lived (mostly outdoors) named Chainsaw.. My kind of place.
Nice article and great photography as usual.
